Azamara Quest is one of eight ships originally operated by Renaissance Cruises. Following the collapse of their owner in 2001 they were sold en bloc to their principle mortgage holder and re-registered in Majuro. They were all subsequently acquired under charter to a number of operators who were keen to acquire the virtually brand new ships. Journey found her was to Spanish operator Pullmanntur who were subsequently acquired by Royal Caribbean. Azamara Journey and Azamara Quest became the pioneer ships in new brand Azamara Cruises.
